Agreed that she's in the worst profession in the worst industry to help her -- acting enables her disabilities and unhealthy behavior to a grotesque extreme. That said, she's got a long, long time therapist who is either grossly ineffectual, or just as likely, to whom she presents her best masks. If the only info the shrink gets is through Robin's completely upside-down perspective, what else does she have to work with? And Robin does not think she's sick, know she's sick, or go for help. The people around her can only do so much-- co-workers, friends and lovers can only safely tolerate extreme emotional chaos for so long before they must protect themselves and often fight hard to recover by keeping well enough away, either because they've had to cut their losses and leave, or, in the case of lovers, because Robin has suddenly thrown them out when they can't fill her un-fillable needs, and she's already got her eye on the next one whom she will again demonize for falling short. I could see an intervention being possible for a drug or alcohol addict, but for mental illness like this, it's impossible if you can't show a real physical danger to themselves or others.
