Bodywork...or is it just Massage?

Bodywork suggests an umbrella in which many therapeutic modalities (techniques) fall under.  Massage therapy is commonly known and understood for its numerous benefits.  Listed below are modalities and their benefits that are available to suit the many needs of each of our clients.

Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT)

NMT is a well-known rehabilitative modality that can be considered complementary to medicine.  Though not medicine, NMT assists the musculoskeletal system in correcting itself of many common dysfunctions and traumas such as whiplash, carpal tunnel syndrome, strained muscles and the pain from increased muscular tension caused by overwork or misuse.

NMT can be scheduled as half hour, one-hour or 90 minute sessions depending on your initial assessment.  Because of its scientific basis, NMT relies on concise testing and thorough treatment of your injury or dysfunction.  Assessment could consist of gait and postural analysis to formulate a baseline which shall determine your progress.

Deep Tissue

A most-popular form of bodywork since many people consistently ask for more pressure to be applied to tense knotted soft tissues.  Not quite as specific as NMT, deep tissue is usually a generalized full body treatment that can be customized to a specific area of concern.  Deep tissue is slow and patient work, allowing your tissues to release its deep-seated chronic tension.
Allow one and one-half hours for a worthwhile session.

Swedish

The foundation of massage therapy and bodywork.  This standard of western style incorporates oiled gliding, kneading, percussion and vibration into a full body, 50 minute massage that is relaxing to the nervous system and stimulating for circulation of blood.  Combine with aromatherapy for a truly sublime experience.

Craniosacral Therapy

Based upon Osteopathic techniques, this very subtle bodywork enhances the flow of cerebrospinal fluid, which nourishes that head honcho of your entire body, the nervous system's brain and spinal cord.  The flow of this fluid affects all other systems, the movement of joints, the tension of soft tissues and the stress our nervous systems face every day and yesterday.

Hot Stone Therapy

Heated stones are used to relax tense tissues and prepare the body for deeper work.  A unique twist to everyday massage.  Customize this session with emphasis on Swedish or deep tissue technique, and allow one and one-half hours for the most enjoyable experience.

Raindrop Technique

A specific use of therapeutic essential oils aimed at deeper relaxation, healthier tissues through the numerous benefits of essential oils.  Boost your immune system via essential oils' anti-bacterial/viral benefits.  Combine with any of the above bodywork modalities, or experience Raindrop by itself.
